As fear engulfs Mae Green, Rafphy's middle age mother, she is torn between two decisions: Should she give the two pups away and break her son's heart, or keep the mongrel pups and take the risk of their wild, killer instinct being dominate, resulting in them turning on her family, and hurting or even killing one of her childern, two girls and a boy. Can she train the pups and keep the vicious beast that is bred into them under control, or will the consequences be more than she is willing to sacrifice? Turning to God for wisdom and guidance, the outcome is one she never expected.

Here is a sample of the book;

......Heather was at the barn feeding the cows and pigs when Mae heard her scream, "HELP ME MAMA! COME QUICK AND BRING THE GUN!  HURRY MAMA!  HURRY!"

Suddenly, at the edge of the woods, Rebel and Yank froze in their tracks, like two statues, with their eyes fixed firmly toward the house.

"Wonder what the pups are looking at?"  Wendy asked as she stopped loading the wagon and turned her eyes in the same direction that the pups were looking, "somethang must have happened at the house."

While she was still talking, both pups bolted off as if they were shot out of a gun.

"Let's Go!"  Rafphy yelled, letting his arm full of wood fall to the ground.  "Somethang must be wrong!"

"HELP ME, MAMA!  HURRY!  HELP ME!"  Heather's screams continued to fill the air as Mae scrambled for the gun and the bullets.

When Mae reached the edge of the porch, she saw Heather hanging on the side of the barn and a furious wild hog under her, trying to climb the wall after the frighten girl.

.......

In seconds, Yank and Rebel were racing across the barn yard as Mae ran down the steps with the gun.
